Our Process
Preparation is the key to success!
Deciding to undertake a landscape project with Little York Plantation is an important decision. Allow us to ask some questions:

  • How do you plan to use your space?
    Are there landscapes you have seen that you particularily like?
  • How long have you been thinking about this project?
  • Would you like a carefree garden or a garden you can enjoy tending?
  • What portion of your  landscape are high use areas?
  • Are there plants that you want to have or that you want to avoid?
  • What color schemes to you want or not want for the flowering plants in your landscape?
  • Would you like a walk, retaining wall or water feature as part of your landscape?

The 7 Steps To A Successful Landscape Project

1.  The Consultation:  When you decide to change your outdoor living space, call or stop by Little York Plantation to set up an on site  landscape consultation at your convenience.. Our initial consultation is FREE!.

2.  Project Development:  On the chosen day,  the Landscape Sales Associate will visit your site to gather information about your landscape dreams.  Our appointments generally last 45 minutes.We love it when you can provide a survey map.  Yes. we'll make a copy and return it on the follow up visit.  If you have books,  photos or local addresses of landscapes that you like, let us know.  Also if there are particular plants that you like or dislike, make  us aware of them.  It's helpful to know the ages of children/grandchildren and any pets that may use the areas.  If any changes are planned in the next few years, we will work with you to allow for those changes.  Let's discuss your concerns, needs and expectations.  This is also the best time to talk about your budget.    

3.  Plan Presentation:  Before we leave the consultation, we will make an appointmennt to return with a visual plan and an estimate.  Revisions may be made as needed and a contract can be signed at that time.  Once a downpayment has been received, we will schedule the project. 

4.  Project Schedule And Set Up:  Approximately one week before the project begins, the Landscape Sales Associate and the Project Foreman will meet with you to review the work to be done and your expectations of the project.  We will then schedule your project start date.

5.  During The Project:  Your are a very important part of our work.  Depending upon the size and time needs of your project, we like to coordinate with you each day during the project.  We believe  communication is the best way to keep your project on schedule and completed to your satisfaction,  You will have our mobile numbers and our email addressses.  You can  call Little York Plantation at 607-749-4861 if needed.  We make every effort to return your calls or emails immediately.

6.  Project Completion And Final Approval:  On the day of completion, we will plan a final walk through of the project to make sure it meets or exceeds your expectations.   An invoice will be presented, with full payment due at that time.

7.  Evaluation, Landscape Manual And Guarantee:  With your final invoice you will be given an evaluation form.  Please take time to complete this form.  Your evaluation helps us know how to better serve you on future projects.  Within two weeks you will receive an Landscape manual describing yor plant material and care instructions.  Additionally, we will provide you with a maintenacne agreement should you wish us to maintain your outdoor living areas and extend your warranty.
