“Make Your Own Memorial Day Planter" Workshop
This workshop will focus on creating a stunning flower planter using red, white and blue annuals. We will use 12 inch plastic planter, 4-5 annuals, soil, fertilizer, water storing crystals and provide additional materials. You will leave this workshop with a memorable planter and a new understanding of plant arrangement plus a great time!
You may bring your own pot.

Tuesday, June 20th
“Native Plants-
Creating a Backyard Habitat" Class- FREE
Throughout the class, we will discuss the benefits of using native perennial plants in your landscaping, including their ability to support local ecosystems and provide habitat for wildlife. We will cover topics such as plant selection, design, and care, and how to create a healthy and sustainable garden.
We will explore the different types of native plants, including trees, shrubs, and wildflowers, and discuss how to choose the right plants for your garden based on factors such as soil type, sunlight, and water availability. You will learn how to design your garden to support the needs of local wildlife, such as pollinators and birds, and how to create a diverse and balanced ecosystem.

“Hypertufa Pot and Planting Design" Workshop
This workshop will take place over the course of TWO AFTERNOONS, from 1-3pm each day. The first day, we will discuss the properties of hypertufa and build a pot. The second day, we will unmold and create the textured surface. Linda Kellish will make recommendations for types of plants to compliment this handmade pot. Made though the correct combination and mixing of sand, peat moss, and Portland cement, hypertufa is relatively light but strong solution to garden design. Hypertufa has the advantage of resembling stone, with a lot less weight while still attracts moss. _more information_

Kids “Totally Tomato” Workshop-FREE!
Bring your children to this fun workshop to plant a tomato seedling. Your child will be guided how to prepare the soil, plant, and care for the seedling, learn about different types of tomatoes and companion planting. They will also be given a four pack with a packet of tomato seeds and nasturtium seeds to plant at home. Watch your tomato grow throughout the season and have them enjoy their harvest!

Take a stroll with Beth Hill of Beth's Natural Way around the Little York Plantation herb gardens, where she will be giving insight on the medicinal advantages of herbs.

“Fall is for Planting” Class- FREE
During the fall season, the temperate weather and warm soil offer the perfect conditions to start planting trees, shrubs, and perennials. The warmer soil temperature is more favorable to root growth than spring, and the shorter days and cooler air temperatures cause plants to divert energy into building strong root systems instead of focusing on foliage and flowers. This class will cover what to consider planting in autumn, and their respective benefits and potential risks.

Class with Ray Lowe- FREE!
Welcome to the "Introduction to Beekeeping" class with Ray Lowe.
In this two hour class, you will learn the basics of beekeeping and how to get started with your own hive. We will cover topics such as honey bee biology, the benefits of beekeeping, equipment needed, and hive management. We will also discuss the importance of bees in our ecosystem and the challenges they face.
